Container Cost

The Cost of a container varies with the content. In general, the larger the baskets are, the less each container costs. If you order a 40 foot container of one large handle basket of 20 inches, your total investment is no more than $6,000. If you order all set of 3 handle baskets, it will be around $10,000. If you order small flat trays, you may end up with $14,000.

Always use cubes in international trading. A standard 40 foot ocean container holds about 2,000 cubic feet, a high cube 40 foot container holds 2,300 cubes, and an extra long container holds about 2,600 cubic feet.

Ocean Freight varies from the West Coast to the East Coast greatly. As a major player in this business, we are able to get lowest freight rate with shortest transit time. Our contract with the major shipping lines call for 11 days transit to Los Angeles/Long Beach, 17 days to Chicago.

Many foreign owned shipping lines offer good freight rate. Do not fall into the trap. They are slow with poor service. For example, it may take up to 7 days for Evergreen Line to bring a container to load your baskets. After the ship arrives Long Beach, it takes three days before the container is ready for pick up. At Sealand, it takes 3 hours to deliver a container in Hong Kong. After the ship arrives Long Beach, all containers are ready for pick up within 8 hours.

In short, if you are importing your baskets through us, you have to trust us to get you the best deals.
